Position Summary:
As a RAP Housing Worker, your primary responsibility is to assist the Resettlement Team in finding safe, suitable housing for Government Assisted Refugee (GAR) families after their arrival. You will work closely with property managers, landlords, and community partners to ensure families are able to secure appropriate accommodations and begin their resettlement journey with support and dignity.

Prime Functions:
Housing Search and Placement
- Collaborate with RAP Workers and GAR families to identify and pursue housing leads from a variety of sources, including media ads and community contacts.
- Assess housing options based on family size and monthly income.
- Communicate with property managers and homeowners to determine the suitability of available units and their willingness to rent to GAR families.
- Arrange and attend property viewings, and provide timely updates and recommendations to the RAP Manager.
- If the home is suitable, coordinate with Resettlement Workers to support lease signings with the family and landlord.
Team and Stakeholder Communication
- Maintain regular contact and consultation with the Refugee Resettlement Manager to provide updates and support additional tasks as required.
- Build and sustain ongoing relationships with property managers and landlords to stay informed about upcoming rental opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong interpersonal and cross-cultural abilities
- Ability to prioritize work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Highly organized, with excellent time management and multi-tasking skills
- Flexible and able to work outside of regular office hours as needed
- Strong communication and networking skills
- Must have a valid drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle for work purposes
