We are seeking adynamic, highly motivated Early Childhood Outreach Worker who demonstrates our values of compassion, accountability, responsiveness, and empowerment to our clients, families, and each other.
The Early Childhood Outreach Workerwill be responsible for working with the EarlyON Child and Family Centres Supervisor to support and facilitate the involvement of families in EarlyON Child and Family Centres.
This position is a non-unionized, full-time, temporary position. The contract is from June 23, 2025, to August 15, 2025, subject to funding approval. The rate of pay is $17.20 per hour. This position is 35 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise with staff in the Newcomer Services program.
- Support and facilitate the children and families participation/attendance in the Early Years services available in the Hamilton-Centre riding.
- Bring child-appropriate materials and activities to current locations where multiple newly arrived families reside and facilitate children and family services at these locations.
- Provide community outreach, interacting with parents and children in community settings to encourage their participation in Wesleys EarlyON Child and Family Centres.
- Build positive relationships with children, parents, and service providers.
What you will bring:
- Postsecondary student in Early Childhood Education.
- Applicant must be between 18 and 30 years of age at the start of employment.
- Applicant must have been registered as a full-time student in the previous academic year and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year.
- Experience working with children and parents.
- Strong team experience and organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Experience and sensitivity working with all families, including those culturally diverse, LGBTQ, young parents, etc.
- Experience and sensitivity in working with a multi-cultural community.
- Good communication skills.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours.
- First aid/CPR training.
