The Role

Our client is a growing and reputable food processing plant based Delta, BC and on their behalf, we are looking for a Receiver to join the purchasing team! This is a full-time, permanent position which offers great benefits and clear growth opportunities.

The position directly reports to the Materials Manager and will perform administrative and operations support functions for the Receiving department, designed to help facilitate the efficient and cost-effective performance of company operations. Primary work involves accepting and processing materials deliveries, dissemination of information, and maintaining various data management systems in support of the same.

This position is a Monday-Friday position generally starting at 9:30 AM - 6 PM. Please note, that this role would require some flexibility on start and finishing times at certain times!

Responsibilities:

  • Compare purchasing documents to packing lists to verify materials deliveries.
  • Update inventory tracking systems with received materials and closing purchase orders when items are fully received.
  • Schedule, accept, and Inspect deliveries to ensure they match purchase order information and are free of visible damage or defect, documenting and reporting delivery abnormalities.
  • Update and monitor materials delivery ETA files and communicate with external and internal contacts on material delivery status as necessary.
  • Input daily inventory materials usage data, and compare computer inventory records with physical inventory cycle counts to ensure accuracy. Investigate discrepancies and correct transactions as necessary.
  • Maintain department databases and Excel spreadsheets including general receiving and inbound shipping container logs.
  • Coordinate with facilities, and packaging areas to plan for receipt and proper storage of high-volume inventory materials.
  • Unload deliveries from trucks using a forklift or other warehouse equipment.
  • Organize and store received items in appropriate locations, route addressed packages to proper staff.
  • Accept, processes, and prepare product returns for shipment.
  • Conduct physical inventory cycle counts and assist with year-end physical inventory counts and audits.
  • Perform warehouse equipment checklists, report to maintenance, and notify manager of any service needs.
  • Maintain accuracy of receiving and issuing transactions (manual and WMS).
  • Update data for all operational KPI tracking.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in a similar position such as receiving or inventory.
  • Proficient with ERP software and Microsoft Suite (Excel, Outlook, and Word).
  • Class 5 drivers license required.
  • Forklift experience and certification.
  • Customer service attitude and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Knowledge of basic inventory management and strong mathematical understanding.
  • Strong organizational, and analytical skills with an excellent attention to detail.
  • Flexibility with starting shift hours.

Compensation

  • $25-$30 per hour
  • Benefits and $500 Health spending account
  • After 1 year, RSP matching (50% company match). 2% after 2nd year and progresses to 6% after 6 years of employment
