Are you the one we're looking for?

We are seeking a dynamic, highly motivated Early Childhood Outreach Worker who demonstrates our values of compassion, accountability, responsiveness, and empowerment; to our clients, families, and each other.

The Early Childhood Outreach Worker, under the supervision of and in partnership with the Wesley Early Years Supervisor and Manager, will be responsible for the development of the camp processes and provide support and supervision for all camp staff.

This position is a non-unionized, full-time, temporary position. The contract end date is August 16, 2024. The rate of pay is $16.55 per hour. Hours are 35 per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Create weekly summer camp activities and programs/themes.
  2. Schedule (book and confirm) camp trips within a defined budget.
  3. Prepare registration forms, attendance records, and daily logs for camp locations.
  4. Confirm registrations for camp participants.
  5. Meet with parents/caregivers who inquire about fee assistance and determine if they meet the criteria for fee assistance.
  6. Prepare camp invoices as per existing invoicing procedures.
  7. Provide regular supervision for the camp staff and participants including team meetings.
  8. Ensure consistent communication with parents and/or caregivers.
  9. Ensure the health and safety of camp participants and staff.
  10. Role-modeling and participation in all camp program activities.

What you will bring:

  1. Post-secondary student in Early Childhood Education.
  2. Applicant must be between 18 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment.
  3. Applicant must have been registered as a full-time student in the previous academic year and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year.
  4. Experience working with children and parents.
  5. Strong team experience and organizational and problem-solving skills.
  6. Experience and sensitivity working with all families including those culturally diverse, LGBTQ, young parents, etc.
  7. Experience and sensitivity in working with a multicultural community.
  8. Good communication skills.
  9. Must be willing to work flexible hours.
  10. First aid/CPR training.
