As our Community Engagement and Content Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in creating connections between our organization and the community we serve. You will develop and maintain relationships with community members, local organizations, and other stakeholders, fostering collaboration and trust. Working closely with internal teams, you will craft strategies to communicate effectively while building meaningful relationships within our community. Additionally, you'll be responsible for executing community outreach initiatives, creating engaging content across various channels, and organizing community events.
DUTIES AND REPSONSIBILITES
- Develop and maintain relationships within our community, with other organizations, and other stakeholders by creating effective communication strategies.
- Create engaging written, visual, and multimedia content for various channels such as social media, newsletters, websites, and community events.
- Execute community engagement strategies, projects, and events.
- Utilize surveys, focus groups, and other methods to gather feedback and assess community needs, preferences, and concerns.
- Monitor community engagement activities and contribute to reports.
- Liaise with other departments to ensure consistency in brand representation.
REQUIREMENTS, QUALIFICATIONS, & CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Community Development, or a related field.
- Proven professional experience in community engagement or public relations.
- Proficiency with social media platforms.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational abilities and readiness to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience working with Mi'kmaw communities is an asset.
- Fluency in Mi'kmaw language is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
