The Set up Technician reports to the Production Supervisor and will be responsible for the efficient operation of the extrusion lines. The primary duties are related to new order set-up, maintenance of all extrusion equipment, and support for daily extrusion operations.

Schedule: 12-hour continental shift with 4 week turnaround

Responsibilities:

• Train as an extrusion operator to learn machines, products and processes.
• Set up new work orders as dictated by scheduling and the set-up specifications
• Assist the extrusion operators throughout the day as needed with a focus on the newer employees
• Work directly with the Production Supervisor to coordinate plans for pending work orders
• Support quality assurance efforts through daily monitoring of the extrusion equipment and the products being produced
• Complete basic repairs on extrusion equipment
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times

Skills and Qualifications:

• 2-4 years of setup experience in the production machinery
• Diploma/Degree in a mechanical or mechanical inclined field
• Prior mechanical or maintenance experience an asset
• Must be detail-oriented and able to work unsupervised
• Have a strong commitment to safety and work well in a team environment
