Powell Foundations is a foundation company specializing in providing design, supply, and installation of shoring and foundation systems. As an Accounting Summer student, you'll be responsible for supporting the accounting team in the day-to-day operations, including processing vendor invoices, vendor management, reviewing aging vendor balances, payment management and month-end closing.
Typical Duties:

• Assist with processing accounts payable, including verifying invoices are processed in a timely manner.
• Assist with filing and data entry.
• Assist in identifying inefficiencies and developing a plan to correct.
• Adhere to legal, company accounting and financial guidelines.
• Perform other ad hoc duties.

Qualifications: Education/ Experience:

• Recently graduated or currently enrolled in Accounting or equivalent at a post-secondary institution.
• Previous Accounting and or Finance experience considered an asset.

Skills/Abilities:

• Working knowledge of accounting systems and processes.
• Intermediate/advanced competency with various Microsoft Office Suite products, including excel and word.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent at time management and organizational skills.
