As a Tax Manager, you will work directly with clients and staff to deliver tax and consulting services. The ideal candidate will be a Senior Tax Accountant/Tax Manager with a minimum of three years experience in specialized tax. Our tax practice offers the opportunity to work in a range of tax and succession planning areas including estate & trust compliance, personal and corporate tax planning, purchase and sale of private businesses, estate planning, and corporate reorganizations. We are interested in meeting candidates with experience in any of these areas.
Qualifications
CPA (CA/CGA/CMA) designation required.
Minimum three years of experience in public accounting being at least three years experience in specialized tax.
Completion of the CICA In-Depth Tax Program or is currently enrolled in the program
Strong communication (written and verbal) and problem-solving skills
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage and mentor junior tax professionals
Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
Proficiency in Caseware, TaxPrep, CCH IntelliConnect and Microsoft Office is an asset
Responsibilities
Prepare and Review complex corporate tax returns
Prepare and review complex personal tax returns, terminal returns, estate returns and trust returns, along with various information forms
Research and interpret tax issues for internal staff and external clients
Prepare tax memorandums, client letters and develop opinions on various tax issues;
Assist in the development and implementation of tax and estate planning strategies and corporate reorganizations;
Liaising with tax authorities on tax audits and appeals
Dedication to professional development in new tax legislation and case law
Train, coach and supervise junior tax professionals
