Job Title: Construction Manager - PlannerJob ID: PL589027712Location: Vancouver, BCOverview:The Construction Manager – Planner role is part of the Construction and Contract Management (CCM) Planning and Practice group within the company's Capital Construction business unit. This is an office-based (Burnaby, BC) role which supports our regional construction teams with pre-construction planning work.What you will be doing:
  • Apply the company's Construction and Contract Management (CCM) practice to provide early project planning and successfully identify and mitigate project risks relating to construction.
  • Work collaboratively with regional construction teams to identify planning requirements and develop multi-year project and program plans.
  • Prepare and provide input into project deliverables and management plans.
  • Provide technical guidance and facilitate appropriate constructability reviews and oversight for projects as required.
  • Develop work package agreements in consultation with Capital Projects and Operations teams.
  • Actively participate in procurement activities for complex, high risk contracts by reviewing high level project documents.
  • Be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the company's CCM Practice and the company's Contracts for all phases of the project.
  • Identify & support improvements to CCM Practice, especially as it relates to pre-construction planning activities.
  • Assists in the development of business unit objectives, stakeholder needs, and performance measurements.
  • Provides leadership and ensures compliance with safety requirements.
What you must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Good working knowledge of project management
  • Excellent working knowledge of safety standards and regulations such as Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Standards and WorkSafe Regulations
  • Advanced English skills for professional environment, written and spoken
  • Previous experience in pre-construction planning an asset
  • Electrical utility experience an asset
  • Possibly extended
  • Construction experience Minimum 5 years.
Term: 12-month contract; most likely to extendThis role requires regular or occasional attendance at a company workplace(s) and as such will be subject to the company's Contractor Vaccination Policy.
