One of our manufactruing clients in London, ON is looking for a Controls Designer for their facility.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create and conceptualize electrical schematics and control systems using SolidWorks Electrical.
Contribute to the quoting team, programming structures, and process flows.
Develop, install, and provide training for all required PLC programming.
Research and select electrical components ensuring compliance with project requirements.
Maintain and modify existing systems as needed.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure project success.
Liaise with clients, suppliers, contractors, and relevant authorities.
Troubleshoot and engage in effective problem-solving.
Communicate with suppliers regarding component specifications, pricing, and lead time.
Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and quality standards.
Collaborate with manufacturing to review designs, ensuring accuracy and identifying optimization opportunities.
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:
Possess a college-level Electrical Engineering Technologist Diploma or equivalent.
Have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role or working with automotive programs.
Understand various aspects of automotive manufacturing, including stamping, welding, processing, and automation.
Proficient in design and layout, bill of materials, and wiring schematic capabilities.
Demonstrate experience in PLC logic and programming (Allen Bradley, Siemens, fanuc etc).
Proficient in electrical circuits and functions.
