Inventory Manager

Location: Fort McMurray, AB

Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Inventory Manager is responsible for ensuring the availability of parts for on-highway vehicles owned, leased, or rented by Diversified Transportation Ltd. The successful candidate will efficiently maintain the Parts Department of our fleet of vehicles so that Technicians can ensure they are safe and kept up to the Ministry of Transportation standards and Diversified Transportation Ltd. standards.

Work Shift: Monday to Friday, 40 hours a week, 7:30 am – 4:00 pm

Qualifications & Skills Required:

  • Proficient computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office)
  • Excellent communication abilities
  • Exceptional data management skills
  • Proven experience as an inventory manager or similar position
  • Experience with Web Fleet Assist (WFA) is considered an asset
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Directly manage employees in a union and non-union environment at multiple locations
  • Complete annual inventories and manage weekly cycle counts in multiple locations
  • Oversee inventory tracking system to record deliveries, shipments and stock levels
  • Oversee inventory reports for all locations
  • Manage vendors to ensure parts cost are in line with contracts & quotes
  • Develop business relationships with suppliers and clients
  • Analyze data to anticipate future needs
  • Process all parts enquiries including; coordinating and charging out to work orders when required
  • Coordinate with suppliers to source and purchase needed parts. As well as coordinate returns, credits and billing of parts
  • Maintain inventory and ensure accuracy in Web Fleet Assist (WFA)
  • Oversee the distribution of parts on back order and preparation of requisition orders

Years of Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years-experience as an inventory manager or in a similar role

Education Requirements:

  • Registered Parts Technician, or Journeyperson Parts Technician, or Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain Management
  • A combination of experience and education may be considered

Compensation: $75,000 – $85,000 annually
