Reporting to the D2C Retail Merchandising and Inventory Manager, the Retail Merchandising & Inventory Analyst is responsible for supporting merchandising operations and overseeing day-to-day retail inventory processes to enable effective in-store execution and drive seasonal performance.

This role plays a key part in ensuring inventory accuracy, managing product allocations, and executing promotional and merchandising initiatives in alignment with retail goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and optimize parameters in the point-of-sale system to ensure seamless retail operations
  • Coordinate merchandising initiatives and communicate execution details to store teams
  • Monitor open store orders and follow up to ensure timely resolution
  • Serve as subject matter expert for retail inventory tools within SAP, providing troubleshooting and root cause analysis
  • Lead short-dated and excess inventory processes by escalating priorities and tracking consumption
  • Analyze historical data to inform seasonal product allocations and manage initial store load-ins
  • Deliver in-season performance insights and make recommendations based on shipments, sales, and allocation results
  • Support cycle counts by preparing materials, resolving issues, and producing inventory adjustment summaries
  • Manage merchandising administrative tasks including maintaining the order guide and resolving store-level issues
  • Oversee promotional setup and execution within the POS system, ensuring timely approvals and troubleshooting
  • Analyze weekly sales, sell-through, and discounting to support seasonal planning and forecasting
  • Collaborate on post-mortem reviews and recommend process improvements for future planning

Qualifications

  • Two to three years of experience in inventory management, preferably in a retail environment
  • One to two years of experience in merchandising or category management
  • Experience working in a seasonal business, ideally in confectionery or consumer packaged goods
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience using SAP is an asset
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and mathematical skills
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to balance big-picture thinking with execution
