About the Role

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of individuals struggling with addiction? The Battlefords Treatment Centre is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Addictions Counsellor to join our team. In this permanent, full-time position, you will work 40 hours per week, providing essential support and guidance to clients on their journey to recovery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Examine client behavior and conduct interviews to prepare case histories and assess problems.
  • Record observations and write progress reports to track client development.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs.
  • Educate clients on health promotion, injury prevention, and management strategies.
  • Provide individual and group therapy, applying psychological theories and principles.
  • Implement counselling and intervention programs to help clients set and achieve their goals.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare assessment, progress, follow-up, and court reports.
  • Assist clients in managing physical illnesses and disorders, and provide referrals to additional services.

Qualifications

  • Education: College/CEGEP
  • Experience: 2 to less than 3 years in a related field
  • Work Language: English

  • Proficient in electronic medical records and MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Windows).
