Job SummaryThe Team Lead – Child & Youth Program is responsible for overseeing daily operations, supervising staff, and ensuring the well-being of clients. The Team Lead collaborates with the Program Supervisor and Operations Team to deliver structured, client-centered services.This position requires flexibility, including availability for evenings, weekends, and on-call support as needed.
Key ResponsibilitiesClient Support & Supervision
- Provide direct, hands-on care to children and youth in the program.
- Implement structured routines to support emotional regulation and skill-building.
- Assist with personal care, toileting, meal preparation, and medication administration.
- Facilitate recreational activities, social skills development, and community outings.
- Ensure positive behavior support strategies are followed consistently.
- Supervise and mentor Child & Youth Support Workers.
- Provide coaching, feedback, and hands-on training to staff.
- Ensure staff follow individualized care plans, de-escalation protocols, and reporting guidelines.
- Conduct staff check-ins, shift handovers, and performance reviews.
- Oversee daily program operations to ensure smooth delivery of services.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and structured environment for children and youth.
- Support transportation coordination for school attendance and community engagement.
- Ensure program schedules and activity calendars are followed.
- Identify areas for program improvement and collaborate with management to implement solutions.
- Serve as the first point of contact for behavioral escalations or crisis situations.
- Implement de-escalation techniques and support children through emotional regulation.
- Follow incident reporting procedures and ensure documentation is completed.
- Communicate with families, caseworkers, and external agencies when necessary.
- Maintain accurate client progress notes, medication logs, and incident reports.
- Ensure compliance with CARF accreditation standards and FSCD funding requirements.
- Support quality assurance processes to ensure program effectiveness.
- First Aid/CPR (required or willing to obtain).
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (preferred).
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and ability to transport clients (preferred).
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to balance direct client care with staff supervision.
- Experience with FSCD services, trauma-informed care, and behavior intervention techniques.
- Flexible, adaptable, and calm under pressure in crisis situations.
- Work Schedule: Flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call rotations.
- Location: Project Hope - Child & Youth Program (Edmonton, AB).
