Toronto Star One-Year Journalism Internship – 2024/2025
Come and join the program that gave so many of Canada's journalists their start: the Toronto Star's one-year internship.
We are accepting applications for our 2024/25 one-year internship.
This internship is for early-career journalists — college- and university-level students or recent graduates who have less than five years of experience in the profession — interested in working in any part of our newsroom, from reporting and photojournalism to digital producing and multimedia. You must have some form of journalism experience — previous internships or roles in a range of organizations, freelance or non-traditional outlets.
Interns work with full-time staff in a challenging but supportive environment.
All Star internships are paid, contract positions.
Positions would be based out of Toronto or Ottawa.

Please indicate if you have a specific interest in news reporting, copy editing, multimedia, digital production, photojournalism or data visualization.

Application should demonstrate
- A range of story-telling skills, with a strong emphasis on news coverage
- Proven ability to report thoroughly, write well and organize information
- Multimedia experience, including social media, video, audio, digital producing and design and photography
- Reporting experience outside school assignments and a demonstrated commitment to journalism as a career
- Strong interpersonal skills

Salary - $54,127.48
