JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Team Leader, Mechanical Maintenance at Irving Pulp and Paper, you will join a team of dedicated Operations and Maintenance professionals and contribute to the safe and reliable operation of our facility. At Irving Pulp & Paper, you will gain exposure to leading edge technologies and process equipment. The successful candidate will have the ability to work safely with excellent communication skills, attention to detail and good organization skills
In this role, you will work closely with planners, operators, and mechanical / E&I tradespersons to ensure the safe and efficient execution of mechanical jobs. You will be part of a cross functional area team, managing day to day schedules, break in work, and weekly schedules and targets. The team you lead will be responsible for execution of daily planned work, planned area / department shutdowns and periodic mill wide planned shutdowns. In addition, break in work will be managed and executed while maintaining overall ongoing priorities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintenance Crew Supervision and Leadership
- Foster an environment that is focused on safety and recommend process improvement initiatives
- Safety leadership and ensuring adherence to all safety and management policies
- Work Order Administration
- Materials Management
- Daily Maintenance Scheduling
- Adhere to labour contract and ensure compliance
- Payroll Data Validation
- Comply with all company procedures
- Identification of training needs and allocation of resources
- Budgeting, Cost Control and Reliability
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education Required: Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Technologist, or Journeyman Tradesperson or equivalent.
- Years of Experience Required: 3-5 years of supervisory experience in Maintenance or Reliability in heavy industry
- Safety Leadership knowledge & experience
- Supervisory experience in heavy industry setting
- Maintenance Experience
- CMMS Experience, ideally with JD Edwards/Oracle
