About the Job:

  • Maintain the Oromocto VIC with a complete supply of brochures, pamphlets, maps & other material necessary to operate effectively
  • Ensure that VIC staff maintains a daily record of the number of visitors
  • Ensure that staff maintain the general cleanliness of the VIC
  • Attend any training seminars
  • Liaise with local industry partners & ensure literature distribution
  • Maintain literature kiosks
  • Facilitate the delivery of the Department of Tourism & Parks Operator Self-Service & Intercept Programme service
  • Assist with program offerings & special events
  • Assist with the planning & offering of the 55+ Summer Club
  • Complete training to lead educational nature sessions
  • Provide support to community events & activities
  • Assist with the weekly Summer Concert Series
  • Assist with Age-Friendly Community initiatives

Requirements:

A candidate (student) must:

  • Be a resident of New Brunswick (must have lived in New Brunswick for at least 6 months) or a First Nation community in New Brunswick;
  • Be eligible to work in Canada (must have a valid SIN number);
  • NOT be an immediate family member (spouse, children, parent, brother or sister) of the employer;
  • Be a high school student entering grade 10, 11, or 12 in September 2024; OR
  • Be a full-time Grade 12, university or college student in the current academic year of 2023-2024 AND attending a post-secondary institution full-time in the fall of 2024.
