About the Job:

As a Youth Camp Leader at Carleton Community Centre Inc., you will have the exciting opportunity to lead programming for children and youth aged 6-18. Working closely with the Youth Program Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing safe and constructive social and recreational activities at Camp Carleton, a FREE day camp with over 100 registered kids each summer. From outdoor sports to brain games, art classes to gardening, you will engage and teach youth the importance of self-worth, diversity, emotional intelligence, and healthy lifestyles.

Responsibilities:

  • Be a positive role model and mentor for youth
  • Foster relationships between parents, youth authorities, and schools
  • Plan and implement program activities
  • Bring energy and excitement to programming by engaging with youth
  • Supervise youth ages 6-18 during program hours
  • Provide timely reporting on outcomes, incidents, and centre repairs
  • Other duties as assigned by the Youth Program Coordinator

A candidate (student) must:

  • Be a resident of New Brunswick (must have lived in New Brunswick for at least 6 months) or a First Nation community in New Brunswick;
  • Be eligible to work in Canada (must have a valid SIN number);
  • NOT be an immediate family member (spouse, children, parent, brother or sister) of the employer;
  • Be a high school student entering grade 10, 11, or 12 in September 2024; OR
  • Be a full-time Grade 12, university or college student in the current academic year of 2023-2024 AND attending a post-secondary institution full-time in the fall of 2024.
