Description
To assist in the operations of collecting and processing donations in the Food Recovery Program, practicing good stewardship of our donated resources. The student will provide service to local agencies, and business', sort incoming products, and assists in Family Services operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:- Clean and repackage recovered food.
- Pick up and process donated resources by unloading, sorting, placing, and loading donated items.
- Work with clients in food distribution.
- Contribute to the safety of staff and clients (e.g., clear fire exits, no obstacles inside/outside the building, cleans spillage and assist in maintaining facility cleanliness).
- Take responsibility for the accurate completion of all client intake and recording into system.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Canada Summer Job Eligibility:
- Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

Education/Certifications:
- Completion of high school diploma
Experience:
- Up to three (3) months prior experience, including life skills.
HOURS: 35 hours per week.
- Start Date: July 02nd 2024 End Date: August 23rd 2024
Successful candidates, prior to hiring, may be required to provide:
- Background check consent.
- A clear vulnerable sector screening.
- A clean drivers abstract.
- Completion of our online Armatus Abuse Training and required Health and Safety training.
