Job Description :

Hill & Knowlton is looking for a Consultant or Senior Consultant in Toronto or Ottawa to play a key role in the development and delivery of strategic communications and community relations programs for some of Canada's most complex projects.

In addition, as a leader in corporate communications, we deliver integrated communications campaigns for a wide range of clients.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with communities, governments and partners in support of major projects in infrastructure, transportation, urban planning, and/or natural resource development.

Here's what you'll do:

• Develop and implement communications and engagement strategies to reach, inform and engage communities and industry audiences using a variety of tools and channels
• Conduct research and analysis on a variety of topics, including community and audience profiles, needs, interests, perceptions, etc.
• Write various types of communications materials and reports including facilitation materials, news releases, newsletters and more
• Ensure programs are implemented in a timely, cost-effective and relevant way
• Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with clients and partners
• Ensure regular communication with clients and relay information to internal team members involved in the mandates
• Manage ongoing measurement, tracking and reporting on client activities and results, flagging relevant information to the account team and client.
• Proactively support new business development activities by identifying opportunities to expand business with current clients, promoting H&K services and specialties to existing clients, contributing research, analysis, and content to new business proposals, and participating in pitches.

What you'll need to get here:

• Post-secondary degree or post-graduate certificate incommunications, journalism, political science, public relations, law, social science or other relevant areas
• 4+ years of relevant experience in strategic communications and stakeholder engagement / external relations
• Knowledge of digital strategies and tools available to community relations
• Superior writing/editing skills with a demonstrated ability to synthesize complex content and write for external audiences
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong project and budget management skills, ability to meet deadlines, delegate and prioritize deliverables
• Bilingualism in English and French is an asset
• Training by the International Association of Public Participation is an asset
