This is an entry level position suitable to recent university graduates or graduates with up to 4 years of experience. Responsibilities:
  1. Work with Senior Engineers and Designers to complete projects and grow your skills in the Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls fields.
  2. Gain an understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code and how to apply it to systems design.
  3. Prepare engineering lists, specifications and datasheets to support construction and equipment procurement packages.
  4. Complete 2D drafting for Electrical and Instrumentation packages such as single line diagrams, motor control schematics and loop diagrams.
  5. Assist with the creation of design calculations to support designs. These may include voltage drop, lighting levels, cable tray fill, heat trace requirements, etc.
  6. Co-ordinate drawing packages for issue and prepare issue folders for electronic files.
Requirements:

Electrical Engineering (BSc) degree with a focus on the following program streams: Sensors, Circuits & Devices and Power & Energy. Up to 4 years of experience; primarily for supporting electrical engineering projects. Everyday use of Microsoft Word and Excel. Effective verbal and written communication skills. 2D CAD drafting and designing skills, particularly of logic circuits and power circuits, using AutoCAD is considered an asset. Familiarity with using power system software to perform calculations is beneficial (e.g., ETAP). Team player, but also able to work independently and take responsibility. Able to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks in a highly scheduled environment. Ability to register as an Engineer in Training (EIT) in the province of Saskatchewan. Authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required.
