How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

The HC Quality Pharmacist is accountable for ensuring compliance of Healthcare activities to quality, Regulatory and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards. The incumbent will assist in qualification & validation of Healthcare activities, ensuring quality objectives are met and comply with local and international standards. He/she will act as the Deputy Responsible Pharmacist (DRP) and Local Pharmacovigilance Officer (LPO) in the efficient management of the pharmacovigilance (PV) process.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure compliance to quality requirements pertaining to all medical products manufactured, including SOPs, contracts, audits and KPI reporting.

  • Ensure that current processes are consistent with established Quality Management System (QMS), GMP and other legal standards. Manage HC-related deviations, change controls and corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).

  • Assist with investigation, closure and follow up on customer complaints and nonconformances.

  • Management of the vigilance system for all medicinal products (pharmacovigilance) and medical devices marketed (materiovigilance).

  • Compilation and reporting of product quality reviews (PQRs). Assist with product recalls, including mock recalls. Assist with external audits/inspections as required.

  • Conduct self audits on Healthcare facilities in Southern Africa, based on quality and GMP standards. Release of medical gas products to market.

  • Ensure initial and continuous training of all HC staff.

  • Liaise with other departments to ensure that suppliers are appropriately qualified and contracts are in place.

  • Assist in the qualification of equipment (design, installation, operational and performance qualifications) and validation of procedures and processes related to Healthcare activities and projects.

Matric (Senior Certificate)
BPharm degree
Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council

Experience
At least 2 years experience in production or quality assurance
Pharmacovigilance or clinical trial experience (added advantage)
