Are you looking for a role that will challenge you and utilize your Project Coordination Skills?

The Project Control Coordinator I (PCC) is an entry level project controls position. The PCC provides support and assistance to ensure the smooth execution of the assigned projects. Responsibilities are varied but include supporting documentation and information management, record keeping, cost control, coordinating timely delivery of supplies and material, tracking project progress, maintaining project files, estimating projects, ensuring quality control and safety, trouble shooting and follow up.

What will you be doing !

Functions and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Project Management, with guidance from the Senior Project Control Coordinator / Project Leader / Project Manager
o Obtaining and organizing information for scope definition and assist in the preparation of the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS);
o Preparing and maintaining baseline and working project schedules;
o Gathering of information to analyse schedule performance, variances, monitor trends, recommend improvements, take corrective actions and implement changes;
o Preparation of gating and sanctioning documentation;
o Obtain and monitor actual cost expenditure information and measure project progress performance using Earned Value Analysis;
o Coordination of changes to scope and cost, ensure related approval and configuration management documentation is in place before baselines are adjusted;
o Coordination, production and maintenance of risk register;
o Coordination of resource and cost loading of schedules;
o Present source information used for financial forecasting and resource demand to Project Team;
o Assist with project related procurements;
o Work closely with the Project Leader, Project Manager and/or Senior PCC to ensure document submissions are complete in a timely manner;
o Assist the project team with achieving project targets, and customer and company expectations;
o Track and manage incoming and outgoing project documentation as necessary;
o Develop and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with project team members; and
o Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor / Manager.

o Provides input into specific job-related procedural improvements utilizing innovative approaches;
o Familiarizes one's self with the scopes of assigned projects and required mission-specific processes; and
o Actively participates in training.

o Responds to situations to contain / mitigate immediate to short-term risk in accordance with established processes and procedures;
o Significant checks and balances on work;
o Escalates issues outside of standards, precedents and guidelines; and
o Aware of emergency response processes and adheres to health and safety standards.

Abilities & Skills:
• Proven ability to communicate across multiple teams and at different levels within the organization;
• Excellent organizational skills and oral and written communication capabilities. Adept at synthesizing information and distilling such information into clear and concise messages for written reports or oral presentations;
• Demonstrates questioning attitude and has the ability to assimilate complex data and recommend solutions;
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines;
• Strong computer skills; Working level capability in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, SharePoint, Visio), and Oracle; Able to learn / use ATOM document management system and other CNL applications;
• Self-motivated and a team player; Comfortable performing duties based on broad general direction with minimal oversight and willing to work cooperatively with others;
• Demonstrated strong work ethic, sound judgment, tact and diplomacy.
• French is an asset

Job/Industry Specific Knowledge

• Strong computer skills; Working level capability with project scheduling software (i.e. Primavera);
• Able to learn / use CNL computer applications such as MFRC / Merlin and PCRS;
• General understanding of and proven ability to conduct variance analysis on labour, cost, and schedule performance; and
• Basic understanding of the methods and resources used to perform project activities related to Engineering, Licensing, Quality Assurance, Procurement, Manufacturing, Integrated Work Control,

Education:

Graduation from a post-secondary school with a diploma or degree in a discipline related to project management, business, commerce or technology.

In the absence of post-secondary education, one (1) year project controls experience.

Security clearance eligibility required:

Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom.

Location:

CNL works with employees across Canada to enable a remote workforce where possible. This role requires occasional work at CNL's Chalk River Laboratory site, permitting the employee to primarily work remotely, should they so desire. CNL employees who choose to work remotely the majority of the time are provided with the equipment required to be successful at their remote workplace (laptop, chair, monitor, etc.); however, they are not provided a dedicated onsite office.
