The Opportunity:

The Banquet Sous Chef should have a hotel background in four- and five-star properties. This is an incredible opportunity for a dedicated culinary professional to contribute to a world-class operation and grow their career within a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Culinary Excellence & Execution:

  • Assist the Executive Banquet Chef in the daily operation and management of the banquet kitchen, ensuring all dishes are prepared to the highest quality and presentation standards.
  • Oversee and actively participate in all aspects of food preparation, cooking, and plating for banquet events, including large-scale functions, intimate gatherings, and special dietary requests.
  • Maintain strict adherence to recipes, portion controls, and production schedules to ensure consistency and efficiency.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Supervise, mentor, and train a team of banquet cooks and kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Delegate tasks effectively and ensure clear communication within the kitchen brigade.

Hygiene & Safety:

  • Uphold regulatory standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation in all kitchen areas
  • Liaise effectively with the Executive Banquet Chef, Executive Chef, and other culinary leaders.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with the banquet sales team, event planners, and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth event execution.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive culinary experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role within a high-volume banquet operation in a luxury hotel or similar five-star establishment.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional culinary training from an accredited institution.
  • Proven expertise in various cooking techniques and a diverse range of cuisines.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a hot and fast-paced environment.
