Scheduler - Civil Construction

Location: Markham, ON

Salary: $90,000 - $130,000 + Bonus

Work Setup: Primarily in-office to start, with potential for hybrid after initial ramp-up

Our client, a leader in complex civil construction projects across Ontario, is seeking an experienced Scheduler to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a direct impact on the success of high-profile infrastructure initiatives.

In this role, you'll be responsible for developing and maintaining comprehensive project schedules using Primavera P6, supporting all phases of the project life cycle from planning and pre-construction to execution. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams including operations, engineering, subtrades, and estimating to ensure each schedule aligns with project goals, timelines, and resource planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules in Primavera P6
  • Interpret and incorporate RFP bid documents, drawings, and specs
  • Coordinate with internal teams and subtrades to validate durations and relationships
  • Integrate work scopes across disciplines into a unified master schedule
  • Establish and implement standardized scheduling procedures and data libraries
  • Support resource forecasting for labour, materials, and equipment
  • Conduct Quantitative Schedule Risk Analysis (QSRA) using tools like Acumen
  • Analyze float, variances, and schedule trends to monitor KPIs and performance
  • Lead schedule review and mitigation meetings with project stakeholders
  • Maintain and report on project progress with dashboards and KPIs
  • Manage schedule changes and assess potential impacts to project timelines
  • Collaborate with teams to continuously improve schedule quality and delivery

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree in construction management, engineering, business or a related field
  • 6-10+ years of experience in scheduling roles (civil/heavy civil required)
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 is essential
  • Experience with QSRA methodologies and tools like Acumen
  • Proven ability to manage complex infrastructure projects and construction timelines
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with a collaborative mindset
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of construction project profitability
