Our client, a leading electronic manufacturing firm, is currently looking for a Jr. Manufacturing Engineer to join their growing team.
Responsibilities:
- Work directly with the Process Engineering Manager to assist with all manufacturing process related functions, including process implementation, process troubleshooting, and process improvements.
- Assist in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Communicate with customers and suppliers regarding technical issues related to products and components.
- Prepare production documents from manufacturing files received from customers and maintain these files in production build configurations.
- Represent manufacturing in DFMEA's and PFMEA creation and updates.
- Creation of assembly flow charts or supervision of supplier assembly flow charts creation for manufacturing or rework activities.
- Creation of Work Instructions or supervision of supplier Work Instruction creation for manufacturing or rework activities.
- Identification of DFM/A improvements to existing products to include a cost benefit analysis to allow senior evaluation and approval.
- Input of manufacturing (tooling, Assembly and Manufacturing Test equipment) estimates to quotations to our potential customers.
- Assist in workflow analysis and make recommendations for improvement in material handling and shop layout.
- Establish and maintain work standards for product costing and productivity measurement.
- Other duties as may be required.
Qualifications:
- Engineering degree in appropriate field.
- Minimum 2 - 5 years' experience as a manufacturing engineer in a medium volume or high-volume manufacturing environment.
- General knowledge or processes on the product floor, including Surface Mount Technology, Wave Solder, Mechanical Assembly, ergonomics, and material flow.
- General knowledge of lean/six sigma is preferred.
- Expertise in DFM/A techniques
- Experience of new customer product manufacturing launch.
- Knowledge of the requirements of ISO9000.
- Proven ability to create and execute project plans that have achieved the identified targets.
- Able to lead effective meetings.
- Quality Control background including problem solving and root cause analysis.
- Sound technical background (hands-on) with logical deductive reasoning approach.
- Working knowledge of ERP, and Microsoft Office.
- Works well under pressure and meets set deadlines.
- Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills.
- Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures.
- Interest in developing technical skills through both internal and external training.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
