About the Company:

Our client, a leading international law firm is seeking a skilled Commercial Real Estate Law Clerk to join their dynamic team and support their busy real estate practice.

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a global legal practice and work on sophisticated, high-value transactions. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of real estate and lending processes, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage files independently from start to finish.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of commercial real estate transactions including acquisitions, dispositions, and land development projects.
  • Conduct and review due diligence, including title and off-title searches, corporate and zoning due diligence, and preparation of title summaries.
  • Coordinate with title insurers, municipalities, and third-party service providers.
  • Prepare closing documents, trust letters, and statements of adjustments.
  • Oversee closings, including funds flow, document registration, and post-closing deliverables.
  • Support lawyers with drafting and reviewing commercial leases, subleases, lease amendments, and related documentation.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of loan and security documentation for various lenders and borrowers, including private and institutional clients.
  • Conduct corporate and PPSA searches and registrations.
  • Coordinate with lenders, borrowers, and external counsel on closing requirements.
  • Manage conditions precedent checklists and ensure timely delivery of closing documents.
  • Support transactional closings including execution packages, funds flow, and post-closing follow-up.

Requirements:

  • Law Clerk diploma or equivalent certification from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in a law firm or financial institution, with a focus on commercial real estate and/or lending.
  • Familiarity with title insurance processes, municipal planning departments, and land registry offices.
  • Excellent drafting, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
