Product Owner (ThoughtSpot)

We are seeking an experienced ThoughtSpot Product Owner with a strong background in data analytics, platform transitions, and end-to-end project management. This role requires a hands-on leader who will drive the adoption of ThoughtSpot, support the transition from on-premises to cloud platforms, and collaborate across teams to deliver exceptional results. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in ThoughtSpot, ETL processes, project management and documentation, and backend BI platform implementation.

Client: Top 5 Canadian Bank

Contract Duration: 9 months, with potential for extension

Location: Hybrid model - 1 day per week onsite in Downtown

Key Responsibilities:

1. Product Ownership:

• Serve as the primary owner of the ThoughtSpot platform, overseeing its implementation, optimization, and user adoption.
• Define product vision, strategy, and roadmap in alignment with business goals and customer needs.

1. Platform Transition:

• Lead the transition of the ThoughtSpot platform from on-premises to cloud, ensuring a seamless migration process.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify potential risks and ensure mitigation plans are in place.

1. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:

• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, architects, analysts, and implementation partners, to deliver project objectives.
• Act as the bridge between business and technical teams to ensure alignment on priorities and deliverables.

1. Data & Analytics Expertise:

• Leverage deep knowledge of ThoughtSpot and data analytics to build, manage, and deliver insightful dashboards and reports.
• Provide guidance on best practices for ETL pipelines and data preparation for analytics.

1. Project Management:

• Drive end-to-end project execution, including planning, execution, and monitoring of deliverables within timelines and budgets. Experienced in Jira and Confluence.
• Track progress, manage risks, and ensure clear communication with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

1. Documentation & Reporting:

• Manage project documentation, including requirements, progress reports, and implementation plans.
• Develop and maintain product documentation, ensuring that platform capabilities and features are clearly communicated to end-users and stakeholders.

1. Technical Expertise (Preferred):

• Understand backend BI platform implementation and architecture to contribute to system design discussions.
• Work with technical teams to optimize system performance and scalability.

Key Requirements:

Experience:

• 7+ years of experience in the data analytics domain.
• Proven experience with ThoughtSpot, including implementation and administration.
• Experience managing platform migrations, particularly from on-premises to cloud.

Technical Skills:

• Strong understanding of ETL pipelines, data preparation, and data modeling.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and BI tools.
• Experience with backend BI platform implementations is a plus.

Project Management:

• Strong project management capabilities, including Agile methodologies, milestone tracking, and stakeholder engagement.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects end-to-end, ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes.

Soft Skills:

• Excellent collaboration, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently while driving cross-team initiatives.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field.
• Certifications in ThoughtSpot, project management (PMP, Agile), or cloud technologies are a plus.
