Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Human Resources Specialist. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing various HR functions, fostering a positive workplace culture, and ensuring compliance with employment laws. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Deal with employee requests and inquiries regarding human resources issues, rules, and regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of appropriate documentation throughout employment history of all employees.
- Maintain employees' electronic and physical filing systems.
- Assist in preparing a report for the compliance assessment of the Federal Contractors Program.
- Develop and maintain policies, HR programs, and ensure that actions are carried out in compliance with legislation and the corporate policy framework.
- Ensure compliance with Federal and Provincial employment legislation, as well as health and safety regulations.
- Coordinate recruitment and onboarding activities.
- Maintain data, conduct system audits, and reconcile discrepancies with other functional areas to ensure data accuracy of HRIS.
- Liaise with the third party regarding any system performance issues, company needs, and system improvements.
- Work with HR Manager on system upgrades, testing, automation of manual processes, as well as continuous improvements and efficiencies.
- Track, maintain and record performance review forms.
- Support payroll and benefits function when required and coordinate year-end reports.
Requirements:
- University degree or college diploma in human resources management or business
- CHRP/CHRL designation preferred
- Minimum 3 years of similar work experience in human resources
- Payroll experience an asset
- Knowledge and experience of Dayforce experience
- WSIB experience
