Job Title: Plant Technician

Job Type: Permanent role located in Windsor, Ontario. 5 days on-site, 12 hour rotating shifts averaging 40 hours a week.

Job Salary: $50 / Hour - $60 hour depending on years of experience.

Insight global is looking for a Plant Technician to join one of North America's Largest Power Generation companies as a full-time employee, sitting out of Windsor, Ontario. This individual will be working on a team of 5 to ensure that their East Windsor Cogeneration plants maintenance is up to date and also assisting in the occasional start up of the plant. We are looking for someone with experience on a power generation plant who has a background in Instrumentation Controls or industrial journeyman electrician work. This role requires the successful candidate to work 12-hour rotating shifts onsite, averaging a 40 hour work week.

DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in the start up of the simple cycle plant when instructed to via a call from IESO (roughly twice a week).

• Collaborate with other team members to complete administrative tasks during down time.

• Learn along side the team about expansion of the plants capacity.

• Conduct preventative maintenance on plant machinery related to Instrumentation controls

• Supporting incident investigations, hazard assessments, and safety compliance.

• Operating and maintaining turbines, compressors, generators, electrical distribution, fire systems, instrumentation, and controls.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3-8 years of working experience as an Instrumentation & Control Technician, or Industrial Electrician in heavy industry (Refineries, chemical plants, potash plants, etc)

• 1+ year(s) of experience working in/with Power Plants (good understanding of gas compressors, turbines, etc)

• 1+ year(s) of experience working at a simple cycle or co-generation plant.

• Holds appropriate ticket (Journeyman Certification, Red Seal, Diploma, or other certification)

• Available to work a rotating day/night shift schedule.

• Willingness to learn, grow and take on additional responsibilities.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Journeyman certification or Red Seal.
