Introduction

Brunel is seeking a Field Permit Issuer to support safe and efficient work execution during the startup and ramp-up phase of operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for issuing and managing work permits in designated process areas and ensuring strict compliance with company safety protocols and permit-to-work systems. 12-hour rotating shift schedule (day/night)

Responsibilities

  • Issue work permits in assigned process areas for punch list closeout activities
  • Conduct joint jobsite visits with contractors to review work scope and potential hazards
  • Ensure contractors follow accountability board protocols in designated work zones
  • Confirm that permit provisions and risk assessments/job hazard analyses (RA/JHA) are in place and adhered to
  • Verify completion of pre-start checklists prior to work commencing
  • Identify existing hazards in the work area, ensure controls are included in permits, and review with the contractor
  • Assess simultaneous operations (SIMOPs) and apply appropriate mitigations
  • Perform regular site check-ins to confirm work is being performed in accordance with permits and RA/JHA requirements
  • Ensure permits are properly closed out at the end of each shift

Requirements

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in process operations or PTW/HSSE roles within gas plants, refineries, or petrochemical.
  • Strong knowledge of permit-to-work systems, safe work procedures, and applicable safety regulations
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a strong commitment to safety
  • Experience using Permit Vision e-permit software is considered an asset

Dimensions

  • Overtime and after-hours coverage may be required
  • Shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Physically capable of climbing ladders, working at heights, and entering confined spaces
  • Able to safely lift and carry up to 23 kg
  • Must adhere to a drug-free, harassment-free work environment and all safety procedures
  • Willing to contribute to a diverse, inclusive, and team-oriented work environment
