Grain Buyer - Role Details:
- Competitive base salary: $80,000-$90,000 (based on experience)

Grain Buyer - Responsibilities:
- Build and grow strong relationships with producers and sellers to expand business base
- Negotiate and purchase grain (chickpeas, lentils, peas, and other specialty crops) to increase market share
- Maintain trusted partnerships with farmers, brokers, and toll processors
- Keep accurate daily records of grain received, grades, prices, volumes, and inventory
- Purchase the right grain grades for domestic and export contracts
- Coordinate timely deliveries to their destinations
- Send daily bid/offer reports to management
- Share weekly crop progress, harvest updates, and market trend reports
Grain Buyer - Qualifications
- A degree in Ag-Business or related training (preferred)
- 2+ years of experience in grain buying or ag commodity procurement
- A solid network of grower and elevator relationships
- Experience with contract management and grain purchasing systems
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Comfort using Excel, Word, Outlook, and internal data systems
- Highly organized with an ability to balance shifting priorities
- Willingness to travel regionally and occasionally abroad (less than 10%)
