Summary

The incumbent is responsible for various admissions activities; depending on the period in the admissions cycle, the incumbent may be asked to be responsible for opening dossiers, calculating averages, and handling and evaluating applications for admission and admission scholarships for all University programs. The incumbent ensures the interpretation and application of practices, processes and policies aimed at increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of the admissions process and attaining the admission objectives of the service and the University.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble applications for admission and input data in uoCampus; prepare acknowledgements of receipt; manage and numerically file documents in Xtender.
  • Receive and process students' documentation as part of the admissions process to identify official and non-official documents, according to the established norms.
  • Manage the digitization and indexing system for student dossiers efficiently as well as Flag any problems to the admissions manager and/or the Associate Vice-rector, Strategic Enrollment Management.
  • Calculating averages: calculate admissions averages based on the norms established by the University.
  • Verify the accreditation of Canadian and international universities as well as the authenticity of documents submitted and note admission conditions at the appropriate time.
  • Analyze and prepare admission dossiers for the undergraduate and graduate levels based on the University's requirements and ensure that all requirements are met.
Education, Experience, Knowledge and Abilities
  • Relevant university training or a combination of training and experience that is deemed equivalent.
  • General knowledge of the university system and admissions processes in Canada and abroad.
  • Experience with data entry.
  • Experience in an advisory and customer service role in an educational setting.
  • Experience with a multicultural clientele.

Bilingualism: fluency in English and French (oral and written).
