We are recruiting for a Systems Analyst to join our team for a 24-month term.
Reporting to the Manager of Information Services, the Systems Analyst will provide project-based programming support in the design, development and implementation of web-based solutions, with a focus on WordPress, as well as other web development technologies, and some Linux and network management. A large focus of this role will be WordPress and web development supporting the Association of Municipal Administrators (AMANS) Municipal Website Venture project, while also providing opportunities to contribute to broader Information Services initiatives within the Municipality of East Hants.
What you can offer:
• You have at least five years of demonstrated professional web development experience, including significant hands-on experience developing and supporting WordPress websites.
• An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Strong WordPress development experience, including building, configuring, maintaining and supporting WordPress websites.
• Strong front-end web development experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and responsive design.
• Back-end development experience with technologies such as PHP, Java/Spring or NodeJS.
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL or Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience with git or other version control systems.
• Experience working with Linux and open-source software.
• Experience with Docker or containerized application environments is considered an asset.
• Knowledge or experience with networking technologies such as firewalls, network switching, LAN/VLAN, WiFi and VPN is considered an asset.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational, time management and written communication skills.
• You are a great multi-tasker, with experience managing projects or initiatives to completion, meeting requirements and deadlines.

Annual Salary: $74,004 - $85,104 per year
