The Opportunity
This is an opportunity for an experienced construction professional who takes pride in their work and enjoys leading a team. At Russon Construction, we believe carpentry is more than a trade-it's a profession. We are looking for someone who shares that mindset and understands that a successful project requires quality workmanship, good communication, organization, and leadership.
As a Construction Foreman, you will oversee day-to-day activities on site, coordinate employees and subcontractors, maintain our quality standards, and help ensure projects stay on schedule. This is a hands-on position. Our foremen lead from the front and work alongside the crew when required.
Our normal work hours are 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and we generally finish our work week at noon on Fridays. Occasionally, evening or weekend work may be required to accommodate project or client needs.
Pay: $27.00 to $35.00 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated leadership ability.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise employees on commercial and residential construction projects.
- Plan and coordinate daily site activities.
- Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, deliveries, and materials.
- Assign work and provide direction to crew members.
- Maintain high standards for workmanship and productivity.
- Monitor project schedules and communicate progress or concerns.
- Identify site issues and help develop practical solutions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional job site.
- Promote and maintain safe work practices.
- Communicate professionally with clients, subcontractors, suppliers.
- Perform hands-on carpentry and construction work as required.
The Person
The successful candidate will be an experienced construction professional who is comfortable taking responsibility for a project and leading a crew. The ideal candidate will have:
- Red Seal Carpenter certification, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- A minimum of five years of construction experience.
- Strong experience in residential and/or commercial construction.
- Previous experience supervising or leading a construction crew.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and sequencing.
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings.
- Ability to plan ahead, organize work, and keep projects moving.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- A professional attitude and strong commitment to quality workmanship.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driver's abstract.
