ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

NL Health Services invites applications from Emergency Medicine Physicians to join our teams across Newfoundland and Labrador. We currently have multiple permanent full-time vacancies available at the following sites:

Central Zone

  • James Paton Memorial Regional Health Centre, Gander
  • Central NL Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor

Eastern Rural Zone

  • Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville
  • Carbonear General Hospital, Carbonear
  • Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre, Burin

Eastern Urban Zone

  • Health Sciences Centre, St. John's

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Medical Degree (MD) from a recognized institution
  • Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador (www.cpsnl.ca)
  • Emergency Medicine experience or interest considered an asset
  • CCFP, CCFP-EM, or FRCPC (Emergency Medicine) considered an asset
  • Current ACLS and BLS certification required
  • Must satisfy credentialing and privilege requirements of NL Health Services including a satisfactory criminal record check and vulnerable sector check

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide comprehensive emergency medicine care to patients of all age groups
  • Work scheduled shifts in an equitable and predictable format as determined by the site
  • Collaborate with core specialty and support services available on site
  • Provide virtual care services as required depending on site
  • Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary Emergency Department team
  • Support person- and family-centered care; promote patient and worker safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks, and implementing improvements

REMUNERATION

Remuneration is Fee-For-Service in accordance with the Medical Care Plan (MCP) guidelines. Rates vary by site category and shift time. Details will be confirmed with the successful candidate based on their preferred site.
