We are currently seeking a People & Culture Coordinator, Business Operations, to join our People & Culture team based in the Firm's Halifax, NS office.

Type of Position: Full-Time, Permanent

The Opportunity:
An integral member of the Firm's People & Culture team, the People & Culture Coordinator plays a key role in supporting a broad range of human resources activities across the employee lifecycle. Working closely with the Manager, Human Resources and HR Advisor, this position helps deliver exceptional employee and candidate experiences through recruitment, onboarding, employee administration, engagement initiatives, wellness, DEI and day-to-day HR support.


The People & Culture Coordinator supports the Firm's recruitment efforts by coordinating interviews, preparing interview materials, conducting candidate pre-screens and reference checks, maintaining communication with applicants, and providing administrative support throughout the hiring process. This role also assists with onboarding initiatives, including collecting new hire documentation through the Firm's HRIS, coordinating workstation and equipment setup with internal departments, facilitating orientation sessions, welcoming new employees to the Firm, and serving as a resource for onboarding-related questions.


In addition, the People & Culture Coordinator provides administrative support to the People & Culture leadership team and acts as a key point of contact for general HR inquiries from employees and managers. The successful candidate will lead the Firm's HR Change Form process, maintain employee records and files, support payroll and benefits administration, coordinate the Halifax office floor plan, administer the transit e-pass program, and maintain employee information within the Firm's emergency notification system.


The People & Culture Coordinator contributes to a variety of employee experience initiatives, including wellness initiatives, rewards and recognition programs, years of service celebrations, staff gifts, and employee engagement initiatives. They will assist with initiatives such as Administrative Professionals Day, Take Our Kids to Work Day, and other firm-wide activities that support a positive and inclusive workplace culture.


As a collaborative member of the People & Culture team, this role provides backup support to colleagues, assists with special projects, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives within the department. The successful candidate will be highly organized, service-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
