The Opportunity

The town of Quispamsis is seeking an enthusiastic, organized, and community-minded Temporary Program Coordinator to join our Recreation team. Reporting to the Manager, Community Recreation, the Program Coordinator supports the planning, promotion, coordination, and delivery of community programs, special events, and seasonal initiatives. This position works collaboratively with Town staff, volunteers, community groups, businesses, and residents to create engaging and inclusive experiences that foster community participation, connection, and civic pride.

The successful candidate will assist with event logistics, marketing and communications, inventory management, stakeholder engagement, and program evaluation while helping ensure a positive experience for participants and community partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and support the planning, promotion, and delivery of community programs, special events, and seasonal initiatives.
  • Assist with event logistics, supplies, scheduling, and administrative activities to ensure successful event execution.
  • Develop promotional materials and social media content to support marketing and community engagement efforts.
  • Build positive relationships with residents, volunteers, community organizations, businesses, and stakeholders while providing excellent customer service.
  • Support program evaluation and ensure activities are conducted in compliance with Town policies and health and safety requirements.

Qualifications

  • Education or experience in recreation, event planning, marketing, communications, business administration, community development, or a related field is considered an asset.
  • Strong organizational, customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; experience creating social media content and promotional materials is considered an asset.
  • Valid New Brunswick Class 5 Driver's License, a current Driver's Abstract meeting Town requirements, and availability to work evenings and weekends as required.

The expected hourly range for this position is $24.87 per hour - $31.09 per hour. Placement within the range will be based on relevant experience, qualifications and skills.
