The Opportunity

We are currently looking for a Controls Supervisor to join our team in a permanent position. Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, you will provide supervision and technical leadership to the Controls (Electrical & Instrumentation), Utility, Mechanical and unionized work force, ensuring safety, ISO14001 Environmental Management System, production, and business objectives are met.

As a Supervisor, Controls you will:
- Work with management, maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to continually improve the business.
- Respond to emergency situations, provide maintenance supervision on projects and outages, audit work to ensure safety, quality and efficiency are met.
- Set accountabilities for your work group, provide coaching, development and counseling to your employees and develop teamwork and integration of E & I with other departments.
- Be responsible for personal safety, that of co-workers, and those under your direction by observing and ensuring compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations.
- Be accountable for environmental performance as it relates to the environment management system processes and initiatives.
- It is the responsibility of the Control Supervisor to ensure that NSPI is in compliance with all NERC/NPCC reliability standards related to (area applicable to NERC requirements).
This position is considered a safety sensitive position. As such, the successful candidate must comply with the Emera Alcohol and Drug Policy which requires a confidential pre-employment alcohol and drug test in accordance with the Emera Alcohol and Drug Procedure.

Education & Experience:
- You must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Certified Engineering Technologist designation, or recognized Journeyperson/Registered Trade Certification in Instrumentation and/or Electrical.
- Minimum 5 years of supervisor experience preferably within an industrial or utility environment, with a strong focus on safety and customer service excellence
Demonstrated technical experience and foundation in a heavy industrial environment.
Ready to take the next step by sharing your knowledge, coaching others, and contributing to the development of operational and technical capabilities across the organization.
Have the following:
- Experience with 600V and 4160V electrical systems and equipment.
- Working knowledge of RS Logix and PLC programming.
- Experience maintaining and troubleshooting DCMS systems.
Skills & Additional Requirements:
- Ability to effectively plan outage work and life cycle management of controls, instrumentation, and electrical equipment and devices.
- Possess strong oral and written communication skills, exemplary interpersonal skills and be able to function effectively in a team environment.
- Be a self-starter with proven organizational and analytical skills and supervisory experience.
