Job Summary
Reporting to the Senior Operations Officer (Eastern Rural Zone), the Director - Emergency, Critical Care, Virtual Care, Cardiology and Patient Flow will be a member of the senior leadership team in the Eastern Rural Zone. The Director will be accountable for providing leadership, vison and strategic direction to the Emergency, Critical Care, Virtual Care, Non-Invasive Cardiology, and Patient Flow teams within the Eastern Rural Zone of NL Health Services.

The Director will lead the strategic planning and operations of critical care services and non-invasive cardiology services across sites. The Director will also be responsible for all emergency services as well as virtual care services, including urgent and emergent care. The Director will also oversee the Patient Flow department, ensuring that all care services are being carried out in an efficient and effective manner to minimize length of stay and ensure optimal patient outcomes.

The Director will work collaboratively with other leaders and programs within NLHS, the Department of Health and Community Services, community agencies, and other internal and external stakeholders to facilitate lines of communication and ensure effective and strategic operations. The Director will also support sound financial management through accurate business planning and forecasting within operational mandates.

Job Qualifications

Education
A bachelor's degree in a health-related discipline is required.
A master's degree is preferred.

Experience
Minimum of five years' recent progressive management experience responsible for acute care services within a complex healthcare setting is required.
Significant recent experience in managing projects of a complex nature is required.

Significant clinical knowledge of healthcare systems and acute care services, preferably with clinical experience in the provision of services.
