The Opportunity

We are currently seeking an Analyst II, IT Infrastructure Operations to join our IT Infrastructure Operations team in Sudbury, Ontario.

Reporting to the Supervisor/Manager, IT Infrastructure Operations, the Analyst II is responsible for the operation, maintenance, deployment, and continuous improvement of hosting environments, storage platforms, backup solutions, and cloud infrastructure supporting Vale Base Metals' Canadian and selected international operations.

The successful candidate will combine hands-on technical expertise with operational support, project delivery, and vendor engagement to ensure secure, reliable, and cost-effective infrastructure services that enable operational excellence across our organization.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Operations

• Support and maintain enterprise hosting, storage, backup, and cloud infrastructure environments.
• Ensure infrastructure services meet business requirements, service levels, and corporate technology standards.
• Participate in infrastructure deployments, upgrades, migrations, and modernization initiatives.
• Maintain accurate infrastructure asset inventory, configuration records, and lifecycle management processes.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and recovery documentation.

Service Delivery & Performance

• Monitor infrastructure performance, availability, reliability, and capacity to identify improvement opportunities.
• Support and continuously improve backup, recovery, and disaster recovery capabilities, including validation and testing activities.
• Generate operational reports and contribute to service performance metrics and KPI dashboards.
• Participate in incident, problem, change, and release management activities following ITIL best practices.

• Act as a technical escalation point for infrastructure-related incidents and service disruptions.
• Provide after-hours and on-call support as required.

Cybersecurity, Risk & Compliance

• Support infrastructure security initiatives, vulnerability remediation, patching activities, and access management controls.
• Ensure adherence to Technology and Security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Manage risks related to cyber vulnerabilities, audits, compliance requirements, and data protection.
• Identify and implement opportunities for risk reduction, service improvement, and operational efficiency.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management

• Collaborate with business stakeholders, technology teams, vendors, and service providers to ensure stable and effective infrastructure services.
• Support service provider management, contract administration, and service performance reviews.
• Participate in project planning, solution validation, operational readiness assessments, and transition-to-support activities.
• Work cross-functionally with End User Services, Network, Telecommunications, Operational Technology (OT), and Cybersecurity teams.

About You

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience supporting enterprise IT infrastructure environments.
• Experience managing hosting, storage, backup, and cloud infrastructure technologies.
• Experience supporting mid-sized infrastructure projects, operational improvements, and service transitions.
• Proven ability to analyze and resolve complex infrastructure incidents and technical challenges.
• Experience working with third-party vendors, managed service providers, and cross-functional technology teams.

Education

• College Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of enterprise hosting, virtualization, storage, backup, and cloud environments.
• Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware and Hyper-V.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, and/or Google Cloud.
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles, vulnerability management, and infrastructure compliance requirements.
• Familiarity with ITIL service management processes, including Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Multilingual capabilities (Portuguese and/or French) considered an asset

Preferred Qualifications

• ITIL Certification.
• Experience with Azure, Veeam, NetApp, or similar enterprise infrastructure technologies.

• Experience supporting mining, industrial, manufacturing, or operational technology environments.
• Knowledge of disaster recovery planning, automation, and infrastructure monitoring solutions.
