Bluenose Accounting CPA is a growing public practice accounting firm located in West Bedford, Nova Scotia. We are excited to partner with Bluenose Accounting CPA in the recruitment of a Manager to join their team in Bedford, Nova Scotia.
Working closely with the Partners and senior team, the Manager will provide accounting, tax, and advisory services across a diverse client portfolio while developing strong, trusted client relationships. This is a growth-oriented opportunity for an experienced public practice professional who enjoys being involved in all aspects of client service and is interested in progressing into greater leadership responsibility, with a clear path toward Senior Manager and potential partnership.
Responsibilities will include:
- Prepare and review compilation, review, and tax engagements for a diverse portfolio of clients.
- Prepare and review financial statements, working papers, account reconciliations, and adjusting entries.
- Prepare and review personal, corporate, and trust tax returns, along with T4/T5 information slips and HST returns.
- Build strong client relationships through year-end meetings, ongoing support, and practical accounting, tax planning, and business advice.
- Manage multiple client engagements, including scheduling, resourcing, timelines, and deadlines.
- Coach and mentor junior team members, reviewing work and providing ongoing feedback and development.
- Liaise with the CRA and other authorities as required.
- Contribute to client onboarding, process improvements, technology adoption, and broader firm initiatives.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- CPA designation with a minimum of three years of progressive public practice accounting experience.
- Strong experience with compilation engagements, corporate year-end accounting, and T2 corporate tax returns.
- Experience with personal tax returns, with exposure to review engagements and trust returns considered an asset.
- Strong client service and relationship-building skills, with an interest in tax planning and advisory work.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- A proactive, collaborative approach with an interest in mentoring others and taking on increasing leadership responsibility.
- Experience with CaseWare/CaseView, TaxPrep or Cantax, QuickBooks Online, Sage Accounting, and Microsoft Excel considered an asset.
