Bay Side Home is seeking an experienced and service-oriented Director of Support Services to lead our Dietary, Maintenance, Housekeeping and Laundry departments.

This is an important leadership role focused on creating a safe, welcoming and resident-centred environment while ensuring our support services operate efficiently and effectively.

What You'll Do

As Director of Support Services, you will:

Lead and oversee Dietary, Maintenance, Housekeeping and Laundry services.

Plan, organize and monitor departmental operations, staffing and workloads.

Oversee food services, menu implementation, food safety and dietary purchasing.

Manage building maintenance, repairs, equipment, contractors and facility systems.

Direct housekeeping, laundry and environmental services to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming home.

Lead health and safety, emergency preparedness, risk management and regulatory compliance activities.

Develop and manage departmental budgets, purchasing and inventory.

Recruit, orient, supervise, coach and support departmental staff.

Build positive relationships with Residents, families, staff, suppliers and contractors.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives and respond to Resident feedback and service needs.

What We're Looking For

The successful candidate will have:

Grade 12 education.

A diploma or certificate in building management, or equivalent education and experience managing a similar-sized facility.

Knowledge of building systems, food-service operations, sanitation, food safety and inventory management.

Knowledge of occupational health and safety, building, fire protection and applicable CSA requirements.

Experience with automation systems and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

3-5 years of long-term care experience in an administrative, management or leadership role is considered an asset.

Strong leadership, communication, coaching, collaboration, negotiation and problem-solving skills.

A respectful, service-oriented approach and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.

Availability to respond to after-hours emergencies as required.

Schedule

Monday to Friday | 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

The position includes evening and weekend on-call responsibilities, with hours subject to operational needs.
