McInnes Cooper is seeking a Manager, People & Culture - Operations to join our team in a full-time permanent position. This is a hands-on role for an experienced People & Culture professional who enjoys being close to the work: navigating employee relations and performance matters, interpreting legislation and policy, overseeing compensation and total rewards, strengthening processes, and helping leaders make sound people decisions.
The position can be based in any of our seven Atlantic Canadian offices.
What you will do:
- Lead employee relations, performance management and workplace matters.
- Interpret and apply employment legislation, policies and employment contracts, ensuring our practices remain compliant and consistent.
- Develop and continuously improve People & Culture policies, processes and documentation.
- Advise leaders on complex people matters, bringing together sound judgment, organizational risk and the human impact of decisions.
- Support key People & Culture operations including compensation, benefits, employment changes, reporting and people analytics.
You will be a great fit if you:
- Have progressive HR/P&C experience with strong depth in employee relations, performance, policy and compliance.
- Know employment legislation and are confident applying it to real workplace situations.
- Appreciate a well-written policy, a clear process and a properly documented decision.
- Can manage sensitive matters with discretion while still bringing empathy and care to the people involved.
- Are comfortable leading the work and doing the work in a busy, collaborative environment.
A relevant degree and work experience, or a combination training and experience, is required; a CPHR or comparable professional credential is an asset. Professional services experience is also an asset.
The salary range for this position is $84,000 to $126,000 annually. Individual compensation is determined based on the successful candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, and other relevant factors.
