Corporate Communications Advisor (Full-time)

(FTS/NYSE: FTS) has an exciting opportunity available to join its team in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador as a Corporate Communications Advisor.

We are inviting applications from dynamic communicators who are passionate about storytelling and thrive in fast paced work environments. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Corporate Communications and Government Relations, the successful candidate will work with a small team responsible for the management and maintenance of the Corporation's reputation, identity,and brand. This includes communications strategy; employee, government, media, and industry relations; special events; community investment and other programs to enhance corporate profile and stakeholder engagement throughout North America.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • preparing presentations, writing speeches, corporate reports, newsletters, and marketing content
  • news release preparation and distribution
  • managing and updating digital content
  • creative development and maintenance of visual asset libraries
  • executing the organization's community investment program
  • crisis communications planning and issues management
  • enterprise communications activities
  • working with external agencies as required

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • excellent written communications and research skills;
  • familiarity with graphic design and video editing software;
  • strong attention to detail with a commitment to produce high-quality work; and
  • highly motivated, with the ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor or Master's degree in public relations, communications, journalism or related discipline;
  • A minimum of 5 years' working experience in communications, public relations, or marketing.
