Job Summary
The Social Assistance Worker meets with clients/families to review funding options and assists with/ provide support in completing documentation for funding through various sources including community based subsidies, private insurance, NIHB, workplace NL, etc, to obtain funding approval for prosthetic, orthotic and seating devices. They will follow-up with clients/families on the status of applications and perform comprehensive review of cases on a regular basis; assists in the collection of outstanding documentation required for accounts awaiting billing; and other related duties. This position works in consultation with clinicians and clerical staff within the Rehab Engineering Department at the LAMC in order to ensure timely funding and billing of devices.

Job Qualifications
Graduation from a recognized post-secondary institution with a Bachelor's degree in Business/Commerce with major coursework in accounting or a three-year Diploma in Business Management with a focus in accounting is required.
Demonstrated effective communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with clients and others in a demanding environment.
Demonstrated knowledge of Community Services Program and accounting principles and practice.
Demonstrated strong analytical and organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
Experience in the use of spreadsheet software is required.
A satisfactory record of work performance is required.
