The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to take on a key front-line leadership role within ADL's Maintenance team, helping ensure safe, reliable plant operations and effective execution of maintenance programs.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor provides daily leadership to the team and is responsible for preventive and predictive maintenance, employee development, contractor coordination, CMMS oversight, and day-to-day maintenance execution. Working closely with Production, Parts & Inventory, and external service providers, the role helps improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and support efficient maintenance operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Safety

  • Provide daily leadership, direction, and support to the Maintenance team.
  • Ensure maintenance work is performed safely and in compliance with company policies.
  • Lead employee coaching, development, performance management, and attendance management.
  • Lead daily toolbox meetings and participate in regular Maintenance meetings.
  • Manage employee scheduling, payroll review, vacation approvals, and workforce coverage planning.

Maintenance & Reliability

  • Monitor work order completion, maintenance backlog, scheduling, equipment records, and asset history through the CMMS.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance and develop predictive maintenance through condition monitoring, incorporating findings into maintenance plans.
  • Implement and improve reliability-focused maintenance practices for critical assets in collaboration with Maintenance Technicians and the Maintenance Manager.
  • Identify recurring equipment issues and implement corrective actions to improve reliability and reduce downtime.

Operational Coordination

  • Coordinate maintenance projects, contractor activities, and vendor work to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution.
  • Implement maintenance priorities and initiatives established by the Maintenance Manager in coordination with plant leadership.
  • Coordinate with Parts & Inventory to communicate and support maintenance requirements.
  • Monitor maintenance spending and support budget and capital planning with the Maintenance Manager.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or food processing environment.
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and process equipment systems.
  • Experience with CMMS systems and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Knowledge of predictive maintenance technologies and reliability-centred maintenance practices.
  • Strong understanding of workplace safety requirements, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with maintenance budgeting and planning is considered an asset.
