Acadian Timber is a leading supplier of primary forest products in Eastern Canada and the Northeastern United States with approximately 2.4 million acres of land under sustainable management in New Brunswick and Maine. As one of the largest timberland operators in New Brunswick and Maine, Acadian has a strong track record of success and adheres to the highest standards of safety and environmental stewardship.

We are seeking an Accounting Technician based in Edmundston, Plaster Rock, or Fredericton, New Brunswick. This opportunity is well suited to someone with previous accounting or bookkeeping experience who enjoys working as part of a team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Compile data and prepare invoices, and monitor associated receivables
  • Process accounts receivable and accounts payable
  • Communicate with customers and vendors regarding billing, payments, and account information
  • Assist with bank, customer, and vendor account reconciliations
  • Support month-end accounting activities
  • Perform other accounting and administrative duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in bookkeeping/accounting
  • Computer skills with experience in Microsoft Excel
  • Proficient spoken and written English communication skills
  • Ability to learn new systems, processes, and technologies
  • Adaptable and team-oriented

SALARY & BENEFITS

  • Annual salary: $50,000 -$62,000, commensurate with experience
  • Benefits package including healthcare, dental, vision, life insurance and disability plans
  • Group RRSP with employer contributions
