The New Brunswick Legal Aid Services Commission (NBLASC) is seeking an individual to fill the position of Human Resources Consultant in our Fredericton office on a two-year contract with possibility of extension. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys working closely with leadership and employees to strengthen workplace practices, support organizational growth, and foster a positive and respectful workplace culture.

What you will do

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, you will be responsible for providing professional human resource services to the Commission. Your primarily responsibilities will include:

  • Support employee relations matters, including performance management and conflict resolution;
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment for various roles in the Commission;
  • Conduct exit interviews for departing employees;
  • Support HR Strategy development and implement assigned strategic initiatives;
  • Coach/advise leaders on policy and collective agreement interpretation;
  • Provide analysis and recommendations on position classification;
  • Coordinate learning and development for employees;
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Who you are

Your attitude, skills and interests are just as important as your area of study. We are looking for diverse backgrounds that bring a combination of the following:

Need to have (Essential qualifications and skills)

  • You possess a bachelor's degree and a minimum of four (4) years of related work experience
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
  • Written and spoken competence in English and French is required. Please state your language capability.

Applicants must clearly demonstrate the essential qualifications to be given further consideration. Please ensure that preferred language for assessment is identified on your resume.

Nice to have (Asset qualifications)

  • Preference may be given to candidates who demonstrate:
  • Experience working with collective agreements;
  • Experience with behavioural event interviewing;
  • Experience with Hay Job Evaluation Methodology
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices.

Operational requirements:

This position may require some travelling within the province.

Wage

$59,046- $82,576 annually - Pay band 4, Management Non-Union Pay Plan
