We are currently accepting applications for Swim Instructors to join our Aquatics team at the East Hants Aquatic Centre.
The East Hants Aquatic Centre is a busy community hub that includes a six-lane, 25-metre lap pool, leisure pool with spray features and ramp access, lazy river resistance moving-water pool, waterslide, climbing, outdoor splash park, multi-purpose room, and many more modern features.
Our Swim Instructors are responsible for instructing classes in a safe, fun, and professional manner, completing long-term lesson plans, maintaining training records, providing feedback to students, and completing mid-term and final reports.
The ideal Instructor candidates will have the following certifications and background:
- Bronze Cross with BWFA (IWFA preferred)
- NL considered an asset (eligible to be considered for role including Lifeguard if have NL)
- Swim Instructor
- Past experience with instructing aquatics classes, or a willingness to learn.
- Solid understanding of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging in a customer-focused environment.
Scheduling options may include daytime, evenings, or weekends. Please indicate your availability in your application.

Hourly Rate: $19.75hour.
